Billy, at your age, is sleeping in a tent a wise move..... ( I kind of feel, as President, I should be looking out for your welfare!)
Not to mind that there's no way of securely locking the thing to prevent Joe & Co from bursting in on you during the night!!!!

Since you won't be travelling and Joe Whyte is club VP, have ye discussed who to vote for in the IMM2015 election? It seems it's between Serbia & Lithuania.

Hi

Kinda envious, had thought seriously about doing this but other factors came into play and my mini is still in bits.
Quick question, for future knowledge, what tools and spares are people thinking of taking?
Anything else you consider essential? ie camera, BBQ, inflatable sheep?

Cheers

Neil

There is no need to go over the top when it comes to spares, if you bring the obvious like bulbs/fuses/oil/water/fanbelt if you have space you can also throw in a water pump and a head gasket set.

The thing about IMM's is that you make contact with people from all over Europe who can help or know where you can get help if you break down anywhere en-route. We had one member of the Club who got a replacement engine brought to and fitted at the IMM in Denmark in 2007. 8)

It's a Club decision on who to vote for. There maybe proposition from another club. The decision is made at the President's meeting on Saturday (usually around 12:00 ish) so Joe may not be available. Don't forget how prior to the presentation and vote, it will be up to the proposing Clubs to influence us in their best possible manner (ie , we are not adverse to bribery by way of sampling their local brews etc.).

Our decision should be finalised on the Saturday by 11:45.

i think on tuesday we could go a bit further, maybe stay nearer Chambery, to hit the Cenis Pass earlier.. as mapped, tuesday is only 4hrs driving.

On Monday we disembark at 11am. By the time we're all off the boat, stare at maps, and go for a lastminute slash, it will be midday. With fuel stops, lunch etc, and the need to get to a campsite 6 or 7ish, I reckon there will only be 5 hours driving done on Monday which would bring us to Chateaudun at 206 miles.

You'll make better time by avoiding Paris evening traffic and going by Chartres.

For those of us who are driving to the IMM I am sure that the ferry crossing will provide ample time to decide what route people are going to take. The second part of Tuesday should be a link for a route that would take us to Susa on the Italian side of the Alps, with an alternative route for a trip over Col de Cenis for those that want a bit of twisty Alpine roads and a tunnel option for those that do not.

Well I'm not sure whether I'll be taking the A1 or the SP65/SR65.

I guess we'll have plenty of time to discuss that on the plane.
